The Reclaimed Coatrack series is the entryway for you to showcase Bien Hecho’s unique reclaimed and specialty lumber in your home. Each coatrack is completely unique in design and is made from your choice of either salvaged teak or Pennsylvania Black Walnut. These rare woods are elevated by the soft, hand brushed texture of brass pegs.
The teak was once the deck of the U.S.S. North Carolina battleship, built right here in the Brooklyn Navy Yard between 1937 and 1941. Once decommissioned, the deck sat for many years awaiting auction. It was later purchased by a local specialty supplier. No more of this wood remains on the lumber market.
